While I found some of the detail interesting, it seemed like the authors were more interested in pushing forward their narrative. We are told early on that a well-respected great great granddaughter of a famous Native American condoned the use of word "Indian". Great, good to get that out of the way so no one gets offended. We are told that early American history is about the slow-motion genocide of the Indians. Huh? I thought this was about Daniel Boone? I kept reading as the authors are very good writers and keep the story moving along. But about an hour or so into the book, the "long hunters" are deemed "racists". Ok, there it is. I get enough of this in the daily news and deleted the book off my Kindle. Seems more like a generic history of Native Americans so far. Whole chapters with no mention of Boone. Occasional info about Boone. About 20% into the book .
